Renowned as one of the liveliest cities in Europe, Dublin is a vibrant city with an exciting nightlife that will have you partying into the small hours of the morning! To help you along your merry way we’ve put together a list of some of the best clubs to hit when in Dublin…
Lillie’s Bordello
Located at Adam Court, Grafton Street, in the heart of Dublin City is Lillie’s Bordello. Widely known as one of the most upmarket nightclubs in the capital, it has hosted several main events including the Top Gear after show party.
The venue caters for most types of music, and the latest addition to the venue is the “Lounge Lovers” night, which has, live music in the “Round Bar” and then great DJ’s spinning the decks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. No admission fee from Monday-Wednesday. The Niall Donnelly Band also plays live on Wednesday nights. Thursday nights give R&B fans a treat, with plenty other classics played by the house DJ. Friday and Saturday nights offer club classic nights, and generally the rate of entry for non members is €5 - €15 per person.
Tripod
Tripod is located at the top of Harcourt Street in Dublin’s city centre. There are three venues to be enjoyed here, one of which is the Pod - the Pod has been at the heart of the Dublin clubbing scene for around 13 years.
The Crawdaddy is a newer venue, which is built for live music and has a capacity for 300 - a small and intimate custom built live venue spread across two floors with cinema-style seating on a balcony.
Which brings us to Tripod, one of the liveliest music arenas in Dublin. It brings together three venue spaces in one area, with a 1300 capacity live music arena, a bar that can accommodate 250 and a 250 capacity club with a magnificent new sound system. There’s also seating in the balconies as well as private booths.
Copper Face Jacks
29 Harcourt Street
‘Coppers’ is an infamous Dublin institution that was even name-checked in the Dublin football captain’s 2012 All-Ireland victory speech. It can be utter madness, featuring a massive outdoor smoking area for good measure. Come early, as it packs out very quickly, particularly if there’s a big match on, and forget about the music - come for the fun!
Club M
With its Temple Bar location, Club M is the perfect place to dance the night away. It has two dance floors with balcony galleries towering over the main area. Enjoy a sparkling cocktail in this club, which has been entertaining clubbers for more than a decade.
The Workman’s Club
A bar, nightclub and music venue, The Workman’s is a genuine indie venue. Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular, although the latest alternative sounds are played virtually every night. Enjoy the rooftop garden, and remember when the next cult Irish band hits the big time - you saw them perform first here!
Vaults
Located at the IFSC, in Dublin City, the Vaults comprises ten interlinked vaults under Connolly Station, just off Amiens Street. This happening venue has a restaurant, four bars, a nightclub, and conference facilities. The V1 nightclub features the best in house and dance music on Friday nights while Saturday night features the cream of R’n'B, hip hop, and soul music.
Alchemy Club
Alchemy is a luxury club and venue located in the centre of Dublin’s Temple Bar. The venue’s Renaissance-inspired interior is designed to impress with its sophisticated style. Alluring lights and cutting-edge music add to the effect.
The Button Factory
Previously known as the Temple Bar Music Center, the Button Factory opened in 2007 in the heart of Dublin’s Temple Bar. Open Thursdays through Sundays, the nightclub boasts superb sound and light systems. Popular among international DJs, it is renowned for its live music acts.
D Two Nightclub
Incorporating a sophisticated bar that is popular with the after-work crowd and a lively nightclub, D Two Nightclub is located in the stylish Georgian area of Harcourt Street. It has a late bar, and the nightclub opens from Wednesday to Saturday, with top Irish DJ’s playing everything from golden oldies to the latest hits.
RiRa Nightclub
RiRa Nightclub on Dame Street is Dublin’s best dance venue, focusing on HipHop, House, Funk, Soul, Breakbeat and Reggae.
This club has been drawing them in since 1993 and features mainly local DJ’s.
Always remember to wear neat attire when going to nightclubs in Dublin, and enjoy your night out! Average price of admission is €5 to €15 but may be dearer at peak times such as Christmas/New Year or if there’s a major DJ flipping the discs! Generally clubs open from 10pm until 3am, and stop serving alcohol at 2.30am.
