If you’re a fan of live music sung with passion and plenty of soul, and musical instruments played with great skill, then you’re in for a treat at Vicar Street in the run up to and just after Christmas.

Music Concert Promoters Aiken Promotions are proud to announce the return of music legend and all round entertainer Christy Moore at Vicar Street in a pre and post Christmas feast for music lovers! Christy’s charm, natural wit and all round superb songwriting talent will be showcased in his classic shows at Vicar Street.

Perennially popular songs from his huge album collection will be performed to an adoring crowd at the venue, including, “Ride On”, “Don’t forget your Shovel”, “Ordinary Man”, “Lisdoonvarna”, and “The Voyage” to name but a few.

Christy is an outstanding performer, and plays the guitar and bodhran with grace and style. He’ll be backed on lead guitar at the shows by Declan Sinnott, a County Wexford born prolific musician and producer, who has collaborated with Christy for the past number of years.

Christy Moore has been performing his ever-popular music since the 1960′s. His music is often described as being in the “Political/Social Commentary” category, with many songs depicting the struggle of Nationalists in Northern Ireland, and fighting the cause for disadvantaged groups, and victims of injustice.

In the early 1970′s he collaborated with Donal Lunny, and together they founded the hugely popular Irish folk act “Planxty”. After recording three seminal albums, the group split in the late 1970′s and after a spell with the influential band “Moving Hearts”, Christy began a solo career that has spanned over thirty years.
