Christy Moore comes to Cork’s summertime venue Live At The Marquee for what promises to be an unforgettable night of folk ballads and rousing songs. You’re guaranteed to hear plenty of old favourites and a few new ones from the pen of Christy Moore himself.
Anyone who has ever experienced Christy Moore live will tell you that there’ll be no end of anecdotes and hilarious stories as he connects each song with his witty personality. From the ever popular ‘Ride On’ to ‘Black Is The Colour’ to the superb ‘Don’t Forget Your Shovel’ the music is bound to have the crowd on their feet.
With close to 40 years in the business, no one can hold a live audience quite like Christy Moore. His huge album production through the decades has ensured that his music now spans generations and his fans exist throughout the world.
This is actually the fourth year that he has graced Live At The Marquee and not surprisingly the concert is completely sold out according to the event promoter, Aiken Promotions.
How to get here…
Live at the Marquee is a series of concerts and events running from the 19th of June to the 6th of July. It’s now in it’s 4th year and is located in The Docklands area of Cork city, along Centre Park Road. If you’re walking from the city centre it’s really easy to get to. Walk along Merchants Quay and turn left onto Albert Street. Continue walking along Albert Street and take a left onto Victoria Road, then follow this road until you come to Centre Park Road. The entrance to the Marquee is along this road.
