“On the first day of Christmas my true love said to me…” we’ve all sung it, but why not enjoy the 12 days of Christmas in style this year with the 12 Day’s of Christmas Festival at Dublin’s Docklands from Friday the 12th to Tuesday the 23rd of December?
Now in its 4th year, the 12 Days of Christmas Festival takes place at George’s Dock in the IFSC and is well worth checking out. Soak up the wonderful Christmas atmosphere while you browse through the many stalls and tick off those Christmas lists.
You can choose from a huge selection of stalls selling colourful jewellery and accessories, arts & crafts, Christmas cards, toys, decorations and much more. Or why not ignite those taste buds at the very popular food market?
At the food market you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to tasty Christmas treats such as traditional mince pies, Christmas cakes and puddings. Or if you’re feeling the winter chill you could heat yourself up with a cup of hot chocolate or sample some of the warm traditional mulled wine on offer.
Last year the festival attracted over 80,000 people, and this year they’re expecting it to be even bigger and better. It’s located on Georges Quay right in the heart of Dublin’s fair city at the IFSC / Irish Financial Services Centre. Georges Quay offers a beautiful festive setting; it’s particularly nice after dark with the Christmas lights reflecting on the River Liffey.
So if you’re looking for something to do in the run up to Christmas come and experience the wonderful festive atmosphere, listen to the wonderful brass bands and carol singers as they ring out Christmas songs and tunes and you can avail of the many gifts and treats on offer.
