Brace yourself for 21 days and nights of exciting performances, both outdoor and indoor with over 20 different venues throughout the city. The festival features theatre, comedy shows, literary events, visual arts, a bicycle ballet (should be very interesting!), as well as a variety of music gigs to suit all tastes and there’s even a show under the “science” category. You can also keep the kids well amused with circus shows, street theatre, face painting, boat rides and a variety of other family fun activities.

The Irish Examiner sponsored Spiegeltent, which will be located in Emmet Place, hosts a variety of events including “A Summer Afternoon Tea Dance”, a caberet night called the “Last Resort” hosted by David Hoyle, a ”Ballroom of Romance” night and a bingo afternoon.

And if you’re feeling a bit brave this year then this is a unique opportunity to bare all! Contemporary artist Spencer Tunick is coming to the Cork Midsummer Festival to create a new body and landscape sculpture. Participants will not be paid a fee, however they will receive a free copy of the installation in return for taking part.
