The Galway Arts Festival 2008 presents an international programme of theatre, music, spectacle, visual arts, dance, music, literature, comedy, street performances as well as parades involving many artists and performers. It provides vital exposure for both Irish and International performing and visual arts, so come along and check it out for yourselves from July 14th to July 27th 2008.

Founded in 1978 the Galway Arts Festival has 30 years of experience. The 2-week celebration takes place from the 14th of July to the 27th of July 2008.

Hosted in the vibrant city of Galway also known as the ”City of the Tribes”, the Galway Arts Festival draws in and around 100,000 people annually. Participation in the festival is by invitation only - successful entries are chosen by the Festival Artistic Director. And as the festival is actually a registered charity its income is wholly dependant on ticket sales, sponsorship, fundraising and public sector grants.

Venues for the Galway Arts Festival this year include the Black Box Theatre, the Town Hall Theatre, the Bank of Ireland Theatre, the Siobhan McKenna Theatre, NUI Galway Gallery, Cuba, the Radisson SAS Hotel, The King’s Head, the Kenny Gallery, the Druid Theatre, Galway Arts Centra, Tigh Neachtains, Roisin Dubhs, The Norman Villa Gallery, The White Room Gallery as well as a host of other locations.
