Prepare for the resurrection - legendary Manchester indie rock band The Stone Roses will play Dublin’s Phoenix Park on Thursday, July 5th, 2012!

Having heard nothing new for 15 years, fans of the Stone Roses’ famed “Madchester” sound had resigned themselves to the band’s demise, but the four-piece held a press conference in London in October 2011 announcing their reunion and the launch of a worldwide 2012 reunion tour.

Released in 1989, the band’s eponymous debut album is widely considered one of the greatest rock albums ever made, but their follow-up, The Second Coming, was less successful, and the group eventually split up after a series of clashes and legal wrangles.

In advance of the tour’s launch, the band has recorded new material for a third studio album. The reunion tour starts with three performances at Manchester’s Heaton Park, tickets for which sold out almost immediately. The Dublin gig also launched a fan frenzy when tickets went on sale in December. Remaining tickets cost €65.50 and are available through Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.ie.
