With the 2010 ‘Great Run Ireland’ only just around the corner we take a closer look at this years event taking place on Sunday 18th April 2010 in the beautiful setting of Dublin’s Phoenix Park.

First staged in 2003, ‘The Great Ireland Run’ is today one of the country’s top 10k charity runs. With over 8,000 runners lining up to participate in this years event, including some home grown celebrities which include our very own Ronan Keating, this years event promises to be even bigger and better.
Taking place on Sunday 18th April 2010 in Dublin’s Phoenix Park,
this year’s event will see some of the world’s top runners headline the
event along with thousands of runners, joggers and walkers of all
abilities complete the 10km run raising money for charity.
This year’s charities include:
The Marie Keating Foundation
- This foundation provides vital information and awareness to the
general public through three mobile units based in the eastern, western
and southern regions of Ireland. This service is free of charge. For

Our Lady’s Hospice Ltd
- Blackrock Hospice and Harolds Cross specialise in providing care for
people with a range of needs from rehabilitation to end of life care.
Members of staff offer huge support to patients and their families
during this difficult time in their lives. Funds are urgently needed to
complete a new 50-bed Extended Care Unit. For further details please

The 3TS / Turn the tide on suicide
- The 3TS was founded in 2003 and was set up to raise awareness of the
issue of Suicide in Ireland. Funds raised go to help prevent future
suicide deaths through research, intervention and support. The 1Life
Suicide Helpline was launched last year and is a joint venture
partnership between The 3TS and Console. 1Life is Ireland’s only 24
hour dedicated suicide intervention helpline and is saving lives

Please note:
Car parking will not be permitted in the Phoenix Park area on Sunday
18th April. There will be a shuttle service in operation on the day
operating from public car parks and city centre locations.
