Language Travel Ireland places students in an Irish family home with their host teacher. While receiving lessons on a one-to-one basis with the host teacher, students also absorb the culture, traditions, and experience of an Irish family home.

The National Library Of Ireland
Kildare Street, Dublin 2, Dublin
Established in 1877, the National Library of Ireland is associated with such famous Irish literary figures as James Joyce and William Butler Yeats. It is the legal deposit library for all works published in Ireland, and its current collection of books, manuscripts, prints and drawings, maps, photographs, newspapers, and genealogical materials comprise probably the most outstanding collection of Irish documentary material in the world, amounting to some 6 million items.
The National Library of Ireland provides a dedicated genealogy service, which is freely available to all personal callers to the Library. The library holds a vast amount of material relevant to family history research including copies of most Roman Catholic parish records, copies of Griffith’s Valuation and the Tithe Applotment Books, records of many of the former landed estates, trade and social directories, and printed family and local histories.
The Central Public Library
35 Foyle Street, Derry, Derry
The Central Library is the Public Library located at 35 Foyle Street, and it is open to all to join or simply to use the library as the source for reference material. It houses a vast collection of Irish history texts. It is open from 9:30am to 8pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday; from 9:30am to 5:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday; and from 9:30am to 5pm on Saturday.
Colaiste UISCE
Elly Bay, Belmullet, Mayo
UISCE - the Gaeltacht adventure centre.
During the Summer months and Easter break Coláiste UISCE runs courses for students from 6th class to 6th year, and the school is open to school tours during the academic year. Visitors can enjoy Splash taster courses in various water sports. Coláiste UISCE differs from all other Irish Colleges by teaching adventure sports through Irish.
Students return from the Gaeltacht not only speaking Irish naturally, but also having achieved a nationally recognised qualifications in windsurfing and sailing. They will have participated in other sports, including canoeing, surfing, climbing, archery, and team challenges. The only adventure centre to offer Irish courses with approved nationally recognised watersports activities, UISCE adheres to safety and teaching standards set by the national bodies in sailing, windsurfing, and surfing.
Synge Summer School
Rathdrum, Wicklow
The Synge Summer School celebrates J. M. Synge, the Irish dramatist who was celebrated at the turn of the last century for his poetry and prose. His most famous work is probably The Playboy of the Western World. The annual summer school is a theatre and drama extravaganza with an emphasis on theatre, seminars, poetry readings, and other social events held in Rathdrum and in Dublin.
The Joe Mooney Summer School of Traditional Music
Drumshanbo, Leitrim
This is a week-long summer school that runs in third week in July. The school celebrates and teaches Irish music, song, and dance in various workshops.
Traditional music classes include accordion, fiddle, tin whistle, flute, harp, uillean pipes, and many more.
Classes are open to all ages and levels of experience.
