Well your dreams just might come true according to one confident Donegal postman!

While Met Eireann have stated that it is too early to tell, a Donegal man has made his own prediction and is forecasting a white Christmas in Ireland!

So what makes a white Christmas in Ireland I hear you ask? Well it is defined as 25mm of snow at Dublin Airport on Christmas Day and this has not happened since 2004!

Michael Gallagher, a postman from Donegal has been noticing a number of indictors that makes him 90% confident that it will snow in Ireland this Christmas.

He is renowned for using nature to predict the weather and in the past few weeks he has been studying the form of animals such as sheep, cattle and foxes. He has also noticed that the late growth of grass and berries on the haws all suggest that a white Christmas is definately in store for Ireland.

While Met Eireann have said the cold snap will continue, they will not be able to say for sure until 9 days before Christmas Day when they will have a more accurate picture.
