There are many ways to commute in the city of Dublin, the choice is endless and one of the best means of public transport to take is by bus. When it comes to catching a bus in downtown Dublin you are assured you won’t be left stranded! So sit back, relax, and let the bus take you there.
The bus service in Dublin runs from 6.00am to 11.30pm daily from Monday to Saturday, there is also a limited night-bus service available. Please note there is now a policy of exact fare on a majority of routes in Dublin so it is advisable to have the correct change before you board. Discount tickets, family tickets, student tickets etc are also available so ensure to enquire before you purchase your ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the Bus and Rail information desks, at one of the many vending machines, at the bus departure points or at Dublin Tourism.
Busáras is the central bus station in Dublin servicing intercity and regional bus services daily. Busáras is located just behind Dublin’s Custom House on the Northside. Busáras was designed by Michael Scott and his team of young architects between 1945 and 1953.
Today Busáras remains as impressive as ever as a number of the original fixtures and fittings designed by Scott still exist, including mosaics floor tiles and large timber wall panels.

If you are flying into Dublin airport there are many bus service available that will take you to Dublin city centre. Dublin airport is located approximately 12km north of Dublin city and journey time is about 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
