AIB Street Performance World Championships Dublin - 18th to 21st June 2009.

Street PerformersWill you be in Dublin this June? A visit to the AIB Street Performance World Championships is a must. Taking place in Dublin’s Merrion Square from 18th June to 21st June for the fourth year running, this years Championship promises even more fun and entertainment and all for free! This is a great way to be entertained and is suitable for all the family.

Dublin’s Merrion Square will come to life showcasing the very best street performances in the world with magicians, comedians, dancers, chancers, juggling, balloon modelling and much more from all corners of the world. Here you can also avail of workshops, face-painting and learn about some of the amazing tricks on display. Selecting your favourite street performance won’t be easy!

Rose Festival - 18th and 19th July 2009.

Saint Anne's ParkDublin’s Annual Rose Festival is taking place this year on 18th and 19th July. What better location for such a festival than in the beautiful and manicured gardens of Saint Anne’s Park and Rose Gardens! This Rose Festival promises an enjoyable and entertaining family day out. Now in its 29th Year this festival continues to grow each year! Run in conjunction with Dublin City Council, rose breeders from all corners of the world are invited to submit seedling roses for trial over an eighteen-month period.

During the festival these roses are displayed and judged and here you can catch a glimpse of the winning roses. There are many exhibitors you can browse which include garden centres, nurseries, horticultural societies, garden equipment and machinery, crafts people, garden furniture suppliers and much more.

Sunday is ‘Family Day’ with some great children’s entertainment, face painting, puppet and magic shows lined up and guided walks of the rose garden also available.

Summer Solstice Walk - 21st July 2009.

Organised by ‘Friends of the Elderly’ in partnership with Dublin City Council and The Dublin Simon Community, The summer Solstice Walk offers people a wonderful and free way to see Dublin by foot, taking in the wonderful sights of the city and learning the rich history of Dublin from your guide and historian Pat Liddy.

Starting at Upper Yard in Dublin Castle on Sunday 21st June between 6pm and 6.30pm. Booking is not necessary just come along and let Pat Liddy take you through this amazing city called Dublin.
