Legendary performer Rod Stewart is now in the fifth (yes fifth!) decade of a wonderful career that has spanned many hit singles worldwide. Rod will be enthralling the crowds at the RDS Arena Dublin on Sunday July 5th with his wonderful and energetic live show. Read on for more…

Rod (Roderick David) Stewart was born in London of Scottish and English parentage in 1945, and has had a singing career that has spanned five decades. His musical styles are varied, ranging from the 1960′s mod movement, to blues-rock and pop, and in recent years, compiling albums with ”Rat Pack” standards. Rod originally came to the attention of the music world as vocalist for the Jeff Beck Group and then with current Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood and the Faces, with his distinctive, raspy and bluesy vocal delivery winning a legion of fans.

Rod began a solo career in the early 1970′s that led to world stardom and chart domination, with huge hits such as “Maggie Mae”, “Sailing”, “Baby Jane”, “Young Turks” and “You Wear It Well” to name but five. In the UK alone, Rod has had a glittering chart career, with over 60 hit singles, of which over 20 reached the Top 10 and 6 became Number Ones. Indeed, his album and single sales are estimated to have topped the 250 million mark around the world, making him one of the best selling music artists of all time.

In a one off show in Dublin, Rod will be headlining at the RDS Arena on July 5th 2009. Rod is on a tour celebrating the release of his new greatest hits compilation called ‘Some Guys Have All The Luck’. Rod’s show is not to be missed, he will be performing his many classics and some newer material. An icon in the popular music world, Rod was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 - a fitting homage to a brilliant songwriter and exceptional singer.

Tickets for the show cost from €81.25 per person and are available on the Ticket Master website.
