If you have the time, then a visit to Kinsale is a must! This medieval town has a stunning location about 25km south of Cork city overlooking the Irish sea. Kinsale is known as ‘the gourmet capital of Ireland’ but there’s much more to the town than restaurants. It narrow winding streets are packed with lots of quirky shops, cafes, bars and galleries. No visit to Kinsale is complete unless you visit one of the best-preserved remains of a star shaped fortification in Europe - Charles Fort. Kinsale is also a haven for outdoor activities like golfing, fishing, swimming, hiking or simply strolling along the sandy beach.
