Kilkenny’s most famous festival is probably the Cat Laughs comedy extravaganza in June, but there is far more to the city and county than that. Enjoy culture of every kind and celebrate Kilkenny’s contribution to making this part of the world a nicer place to be in!

Three Sisters Festival Network

An ambitious new summer river festival series launched in partnership with the Kilkenny Leader Partnership, the Three Sisters Festival Network celebrates the sister rivers of the Nore, the Suir, and the Barrow. Staged from May to September in nine towns and villages across Kilkenny, it features events aquatic and otherwise, including regattas, kayaking on the Nore, a cot-racing championship, family events, archery, a carnival workshop, and a free open-air concert in Millennium Garden.

Kilkenny Arts Festival
Kilkenny’s streets are a hive of cultural activity from August 10th to 19th, as the annual arts extravaganza sweeps the city. Enjoy everything from classical music, theatre, and dance to literature, visual arts, and crafts. Many
events are staged in such medieval gems as Kilkenny Castle, St. Canice’s Cathedral, and the Black Abbey.

Savour Kilkenny
There’s plenty to whet the appetite in Kilkenny City from October 25th to 29th, as Savour Kilkenny sets taste buds tingling. Enjoy the best of local and regional produce, workshops, and demonstrations from artisan producers at open-air markets on the Parade. All that food is complemented by street performers, musicians, and plenty of family entertainment.

Kilkenomics
Come to Kilkenny City from November 14th to 18th and discover that economics really are not that frightening. Kilkenomics gathers some of the world’s best economic thinkers together with some of the best comic and analytical minds and comes up with - well, lots of interesting stuff!
In previous years, they have even managed to make economics informative in an entertaining way.

International Gospel Choir Festival Kilkenny

If you get carried away by gospel music, you’ll need to come to Kilkenny at the end of August. From August 30th to September 2nd, 2012, the city will ring with the sound of gospel-music choirs from around the world.
