Check out our list of mountaineering clubs and societies in Ireland. Some walks and climbs are for experienced climbers only, but many clubs also offer walking trips for the novice also.

Laune Mountaineering Club

Killorglin, Kerry

The Laune Mountaineering Club is located on the banks of the River Laune in the beautiful town of Killorglin in County Kerry. The town is surrounded by some of the Ireland’s highest mountains and some of the most spectacular scenery in the south west.

Walks mainly take place in County Kerry and are usually held every second Sunday. There is something for everyone with moderate to hard terrain and moderate to fast type walks.

Dal Riada Climing Club

Limerick

This club specialiese in rock climbing, with trips abroad being arranged. This club is for experienced climbers only.

This is not an offical club as there is no meetings or newletters. It really just a social circle of climbers, who can get in contact with each other and organised climbs.

Kerry Mountain Rescue Team

Kerry
This hardworking team of 30+ volunteers cover the entire south west of Ireland especially the Beara, Iveragh and Dingle Peninsula which boast some of the highest and most challenging peaks in the country.

The team train regularly both at home and abroad and are highly skilled and trained to rescue in the toughest of conditions.

Tyndall Mountaineering Club

21 Westcourt Demesne, Callan, Kilkenny
The club hold walks every sunday throught the year except during the months of July and August.

Walks are taken part through the surrounding areas. Skiing trips for members are held in Feburary.
