This hugely successful rock band are currently riding high in the charts with their hit ‘Rockstar’.
About the band
The band hail from a town called Hanna, in Canada but are based in Vancouver. They have been performing since 1995 with lead singer Chad Kroegur at the forefront of the band.
The band’s name was thought-up by Chad’s brother Mike who once worked in Starbucks selling coffee and he would sometimes say to customers “Here’s your nickel back!”
Nickelback has won many Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Juno Awards and have been nominated for Music Video Awards.
This is a concert not to be missed and tickets are currently for sale on ticketmaster priced at €54.80. Special guests are yet to be announced and gates open at 7pm.
About the venue
The RDS (Royal Dublin Society) is a concert, conference and exhibition venue located on 42 acres of grounds in Ballsbridge, a leafy suburb about a 20 minute walk south of the city.
The concert will be held in the Simmonscourt area which can hold up to 7,000 people.
How to get there
By car:
From Trinity College take the N11 (Nassau Street) and after about 150 metres take a right on the R118. Stay on this road for approx 2km and you’ll come to the RDS on your right hand side.
By bus:
Number 7, 5 and 45 all stop outside the main entrance to the RDS
By train:
The DART train southbound stops at Landsdowne Road which is not too far from the concert venue.
