Hard rockers Queens of the Stone Age are performing for two sold out concerts in the Ambassador Theatre on the 5th and 6th of February, so if you’re one of the lucky ones who have got a ticket - read on to find out how to the to the venue and where to stay in Dublin.

About the band…

The Queens of the Stone Age are a rock band from Calafornia who have been taking the music world by storm since they started performing in 1997. Originally called ‘Gama Ray’, The Queens are famous for riff-oriented, heavy music, sometimes described as ‘robot rock’. Their music has been hugely influenced by bands like Soundgarden, Motorhead, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

The band have released a number of albums since including Rated R (2000), Songs for the Deaf (2002), Lullabies to Paralyse (2005) and most recently Era Vulgaris just last year. In this most recent album was the single ‘Sick, Sick, Sick’ is nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008.

The Queens of the Stone have something of a flexible line-up for the band, but the band that is currently touring consists of Joshua Homme (the only remaining original member), Troy Van Leeuwen, Joey Castillo, Michael Shuman and Dean Fertita.

They have played with and supported bands like the Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails and have been bit hits at festivals like Oxygen and Glastonbury.

They will be rolling into town soon and will perform two nights at the Ambassador Theatre on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th of February, and the shows start at 8pm.
