At the end of January, Mike Denver, one of Ireland’s up and coming country music stars will perform at the Helix in Dublin. Joined by some of his other country music veterans, this promises to be a great show. About the show…
The Country Show with Mike Denver is a must for all country music fans and Mike will be joined by some of his country music buddies like Larry Cunningham, Ray Lynam and Roly Daniels amongst others. This concert forms part of Mike Denver’s 2008 plan to take Ireland by storm with a series of nationwide concerts. Other venues for his tour include The Waterfront Hall Belfast and The Opera House in Cork.
The shows are sure to be filled with all of Mike Denver’s country classics from his 7 albums and 2 DVDs. These albums include a number of Christmas releases, such as Christmas Country and the latest Christmas DVD, Driving Home for Christmas. Other albums include Wings To Fly, Love To Live, Absent Friends, Messenger Boy, and his most recent Seasons In The Sun.
This latest albums includes such classics as Let’s Go Waltzing Together, I Want to be Your Man, Home, Sentimental Irish and the title track Seasons in the Sun. Past albums include such successful cover songs as You’re My Best Friend, Hills of Donegal and Sylvia’s Mother all of which featured in The Galway Boy and are fantastic dancing tunes.
This show will be coming to The Helix on Thursday 31st of January at 8pm in the Theatre.
How to get to the Helix…
The Helix is located in Dublin City University (DCU) which lies between Glasnevin and Whitehall, north of the city centre.
To get there from Dublin city centre, your best bet is to get Dublin bus numbers 4, 11, 11A, 11B, 13, 13A and 19A, which stop outside the DCU Ballymun entrance.
If you’re driving from the city centre take the N1/M1 towards the Airport until you get to the Whitehall Junction where you can turn left onto Collins Avenue. On this street you should see DCU on the left after the St. Aidans CBS.
If coming from outside Dublin then you can simply head for the M50, and take Ballymun exit (Junction 4). Head through Ballymun until you turn left onto Collins Avenue/Ballymun Road crossroads (approx 500 meters). At the second set of traffic lights turn right into the entrance for DCU.
