Taking place from 15th to 24th February, the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2008 is best described as a film buffs dream! With over 100 premieres to attend, Dublin will become the centre of the movie (for a few days at least!) - check out our guide to this annual event which attracts some of the leading names in the industry. We’ve got details on the festival and if you’re planning to make a break of it we’ve gathered information on the best Dublin hotels to stay in.

The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2008 will be held in Dublin City Centre this coming February. This will be the 6th such festival and it will take place in various venues around the city centre from Friday the 15th to Sunday the 24th of February. There were submissions taken until the end of October, though the film list for 2008 hasn’t been released yet.Cassidys Hotel, Dublin

This annual film festival screens over 100 premieres and there are also a number of forums which discuss the various movies. Last year in September there was a special premiere of Death Proof, which was attended by the legendary director himself, Quentin Tarantino.

If you’d like to stay around for the night there are several city centre Dublin hotels that would make an excellent base for the festival.

Located on O’Connell Street there’s the 3-Star Cassidys Hotel and the Royal Dublin Hotel. There’s also the unrated Lynams Hotel and of course the 4-Star Gresham Hotel, which is something of a landmark on O’Connell Street.

Located on nearby streets you’ll find the 2-Star Abbey Hotel on Abbey Street. Another 2-Star Dublin hotel is the River House Hotel on Eustace Street in Temple Bar. Also in Temple Bar is the 3-Star Paramount Hotel on Parliament Street while other 3-Star hotels located conveniently to the city centre include the Arlington Hotel on Bachelors Walk and the Jurys Inn Parnell Street. If you’re looking for a little extra luxury in the city centre you could try the Westin Dublin, a 5-Star hotel on Westmoreland Street.Jurys Inn Parnell Street, Dublin

When you stay in one of these hotels you’ll be just a hop, skip and a jump from all the city has to offer and, if you aren’t in the nocturnal hotspot of Temple Bar then you’ll certainly be within walking distance of it.

Film buff or not we hope you enjoy the festival! And if you need assistance booking any of our Dublin hotels just drop us a line in the comment box below.
