Two very early, possibly 8th century, High Crosses have elaborate and varied abstract patterns on the heads and shafts. the base of the larger north cross has Christ giving their mission to the Apostles, two processions and an uncertain animal scene. The south cross has the mission again, Daniel in the Lion's Den, Adam and Eve. A camera lens will note the detail far better than the eye in all but the most ideal slanted light. Saint Patricks Well Church And Cross
Clonmel, Tipperary
A number of wells rise up at this eerie spot where one could imagine that people in times past could have wondered at the primeval power of nature. St. Patrick is said to have visited the place, and the water is said to cure 'sore lips, sore eyes, the scrofula and several other chronic diseases'.

Toureen Peakaun Church Crosses And Slabs
Glen of Aherlow, Tipperary
St. Alban founded the first monastery here around 650, but the site is named after his successor, St. Beccan. A 12th century Romanesque church has a flat-headed doorway, and two unusual decorated windows.

Holy Year Cross
Clonmel, South_Tipperary
Erected by people of Clonmel to honour the "Holy Year" 1950. Stations of the Cross added in 1953. Oratory erected in 1963. The Cross and Shrine is maintained by a committee drawn from the people of the Old Bridge and Scrouthea area of Clonmel. Mass is celebrated each August Bank Holiday Monday at 11 am at which thousands of people attended....
