Part of the famous Tralee to Dingle Light Railway (1891-1953), this section was restored. Visitors can experience the sensation of travelling by steam train from the special railway station at Ballyard. This departs daily, on the hour, during May to October. The railway is closed on the second Monday and Tuesday of each month for maintenance work.

The Lartigue Monorail was a unique railway line which ran from Listowel to Ballybunion between 1888 & 1924.
