Genealogy links in Ireland
Irish Midland Ancestry Very useful genealogy service for counties Laois and Offaly.
Flyleaf Press Useful Irish genealogy books for researching your family tree. Online ordering available.
Eneclann The Eneclann site is well maintained by the scholars of Trinity. It is also a professional searching service. A very good site and well presented. Certainly worth a look.
TIARA - The Irish Ancestral Research Association. TIARA is one of the most comprehensive sites that you are likely to find for the Irish researcher. It has link upon link ranging from historical maps to local research centres. It is very much a prioity site for any searcher.
Ballykilcline A really good site centred around Leitrim and Roscommon and the goings on back in the 1800’s with evictions etc. It is well worth a look simply to read the story if nothing else. It’s a site with a story and I like it.
Celtic Origins Another of the professional searching companies. It’s worth a look because of some of the interesting articles that they put up on the site about certain figures and also articles on genealogy itself.
Coats Of Arms These are Irish family coats of arms done by Eddie Geoghegan and its an excellent site for what it supplies.
Irish Ancestry The Irish Times very own ancestry section and it doesn’t disappoint. There is plenty of info to be garnered from this site and it’s definitely worth taking a look at.
National Archives of Ireland The National Archives of Ireland are an obvious place to start a look up. Of course these are seriously limited by the fact that most of the census data was destroyed in 1921 during the Civil War in 1921 when the Customs House was set on fire. None the less it is still a site that should be looked at.
Leitrim-Roscommon Homepage This is an excellent site maintained by Edward Finn. It provides searchable databases for names in the region stated and also maps of the area. There is also townlands information provided.
