Trinity College on its 40-acre site retains some of its ancient seclusion and its cobbled squares, gardens and parks have a tranquil atmosphere compared to the bustling city centre streets outside. The campus contains a unique collection of buildings dating from the 17th to the 20th century. Trinity College welcomes over half a million visitors every year, who have come to see the grounds and treasures.

You can always go for a Walking Tour of the campus, escorted by students, that gives you complete history of the college, its buildings and graduates. These tours run from mid-April until early October. Tours commence every 40 minutes from 10.15am and there are approx. 9 tours a day.

The College is famed for the great treasures it has the honour to be guardian of. These include the Book of Kells, a 9th century illuminated manuscript the books of Durrow and Armagh and an early Irish Harp. These are displayed in the Colonnades Exhibition Gallery and the Long Room, which is the most impressive library in the college housing over 200,000 of Trinity's oldest books. The Old Library is open 7 days a week. Admission on Monday to Saturday is at 9.30am to 5pm. On Sundays the hours are 9.30 to 4.30 from June-September and 12.30 to 4.30 from October-May.

"The Dublin Experience" is a multimedia interpretation of the city of Dublin. The show is based around a sophisticated audiovisual presentation, tells the story of Dublin and its people from its earliest beginning to the present day. The Dublin Experience operates from mid May until the end of September, 7 days a week with shows on the hour every hour 10am to 5pm.
