Colonnade Restaurant

The Commons Restaurant
Newman House, 85-86 Saint Stephens Green, Dublin 2, Dublin
Unshamedly bourgeois and plush, it is the sort of place where you might just see Michelle Pfeiffer and Daniel Day-Lewis, though the chances are its more likely to be fat-cat cinema producers having lunch, whilst Michelle and Danny eat elsewhere.

Its food is classical French with contemporary knobs on, which means a sprinkling of fashionable Irish ingredients such as colcannon with roast monkfish. The service operates by apparently reading your mind....

The Odessa Lounge & Grill
13/14 Dame Court, Dublin 2, Dublin
Like any major city, Dublin helplessly follows the sof food, and Odessa's menu is a typical example of the modern style. "An eclectic mix of freshly prepared food for which in practice means ceviche alongside ciabatta, marinated tofu beside tandoori chicken, Caribbean mussels beside angel hair with pesto. There is also a bar downstairs....
