Vibes & Scribes Lee Swim

Originally held in 1914, this event is fun for all the family as there are categories for all age groups from Under-20 all the way up to 80+. This Vibes and Scribes Lee Swim has become one of the top open water swimming events in the country and it draws many thousands of spectators.
This swim is 2000 metres and takes down the North and up the South channel of the river Lee. All competent swimmers above the age of 12 are welcome to submit advance entries.

Sandycove Island Challenge - Kinsale

The Sandycove Island Challenge is an open water swimming race around a sheltered island between Kinsale and the Old Head. At no time are the swimmers more than 150 meters from land and water depths do not exceed 10 meters. This provides a beautiful natural visa including: a herd of feral goats, migrating birds, shellfish, vibrant underwater plant life and seals.
Originally held in 1994, the 2005 event drew 105 swimmers and a cheering crowd of family and friends.
