Listowel Writers Week is not only for the literary buff this festival is also an established family event with a host of childrens activities including parades, drama and readings. For that budding novelist, Listowel Writers Week has a special competition category, "creative writing for youths", which is open to young people up to 18 years of age.
The literary enthusiast can enjoy a host of activities and events, for example, art, drama, poetry, film, story telling, lectures, seminars, book launches, meet the author street dance, music and comedy. Beginner writers can enrol for workshops to study every form of the published word. Featured writers at this year's Listowel Writers Week include Seamus Heaney, Mary Lawson, Anne Enright, John Banville, Julian Gough, Pat Boran, Eric P Kaufmann, John Boyne, John F Deane, Diarmuid Ferriter, Martin Lynch, Per Petterson, Hugo Hamilton, Brett Paesel and Zoe Margolis.
A ticket is available from Listowel Writers Week - Writers Week Patrons Ticket. This ticket will entitle you to admission to Writers Week Official Opening Night and admission to all literary events (excludes workshops) during Writers Week.
