Shannon Airport is located in County Clare, about 24km northwest of Limerick city, and is one of Ireland's busiest airports. Once you've cleared customs and collected your luggage, make your way from the baggage reclaim area to the Arrivals Hall.
The car hire desks are located here check your car rental booking confirmation document, this should tell you which desk to go to. Once you've finalized the booking details and picked up your car hire (you'll be directed to the car park; there may even be a shuttle bus) you can hit the open road.

Nearby areas include Limerick city for shopping, the magnificent and breathtaking Cliffs of Moher towering over the Atlantic Ocean and of course the interesting limestone region of the Burren. While travelling south from Clare will bring you to counties Kerry and Cork in the South West. This part of the country is renowned for it's spectacular scenery and multitude of attractions. These include the Ring of Kerry, Killarney with its enchanting lakes and National Park, Carrauntoohil, the Dingle Peninsula, Kenmare, the wild and rugged Beara Peninsula, the seaside resort of Kinsale and the list goes on.
