I booked through your site, not directly thru Martello's website. I moved room after the first night , as too much noise could be heard from the top bar, and I couldn't sleep. I moved to an apartment at the rear of the hotel. The floorboards don't have any dampening under them , so every footstep from room above could be heard .Likewise those under me could here me . Bottles are emptied everyday for a period varying between 6-8 hours ! There's an adjacent disco at the front of the hotel, and a pizzeria that opens at 11Pm, and closes at 4AM that caters for drunken disco visitors . I didn't sleep one minute on Saturday !!!!....To add insult to injury , I was told by the Day manager that I should have been informed on arrival that the Martello is " A noisy Hotel ". I wasn't .This is not mentioned on their website , either. There is no WIfi connection in the apartments. I had to stand on the stairs to gain access. When I mentioned this to the so called Head of IT ...I was told that there was a business conference with 20 users of the net ...so I couldn't gain access ....what a load of rubbish ...she should neither be in charge , or give such idiotic excuses to paying customers! The Martello is sponsering a bike ride on the 26th June. I was there to ride the Wicklow 200 , and needed sleep, which is the least that one expects . Hopefully , John Duggan , the owner, will have plenty of cyclists staying there. Hopefully they will experience the absolute madness of a zoo run riot when employees on their " kickoff" bang on doors in the corridors to late hours. I found out later that the Hotel does have a reputation in Bray as a weekend " stagnight "Hotel. I for one wouldn't put my foot in the place again.
