Having spent lots of time on the internet trying to find a hotel in Wicklow with good reviews we finally settled on the Marriot due to the fact we have already stayed at other Marriotts in England which were exceptional and the Go Ireland deal was amazing for a 5* star hotel considering we would have paid approx another 300 euros if we had booked with Marriot direct. We were not disappointed. The family room , with 2 double beds was large and extemely comfortable. Cleanliness was excellent. The lady that cleaned our room, Patricia, kept making swans out of the towels which the children loved. The breakfast was to die for although we have put on lots more weight! The public areas were pristine and tea and coffee was always available in the lobby. Our children, 10 and 8 yrs spent much time in the free games room in the hotel which was wonderful as they kept themselves amused and made lots of friends. The cinema and kiddies film (with popcorn) was also an excellent idea for the children on the Friday and Saturday night. Although there were a lot of families staying when we were there all the children were very well behaved and you really wouldn't have known they were there. The surroundings were beautiful and staff friendly and attentive. The cocktails in the bar in the evening were lovely and the bar staff couldn't have done enough for you. We learned that 3 other hotels in the area had closed in the last 18 months due the to economic crisis. I sincerely hope this hotel survives the storm as it and it's staff are a credit to the Marriott chain.

No complaints. Had a lovely relaxing stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful. A bit expensive but our stay was an anniversary treat. Weather was good and the mountains a wonderful sight.

The hotel just did not give value for money and i would not rate it five star hotel. The staff were very good, the pool and leisure part was fine but i expected more from a five star compared to others i have stayed in.

nice hotel but I would have expected it to be of a higher standards for a 5 star, not in the same league as other 5 * hotels in ireland e.g heritage

It is an excellent place to stay for the weekend. It has a very friendly non-intimidating feel and the staff are very approachable. The swimming pool etc is fabulous and in a lovely setting. There are a lot of young families who were there too but there is plenty of room for everyone. The only limiting thing is that there are not a lot of places to eat around the area so you are limited to the hotel facilities. I will say we did have an excellent curry in Wicklow but I know that's not everyone's taste. Would definitely go back for another visit as it was a lovely relaxing break for our anniversary.
