From Bray station, take bus 185 (€ 1.70 correct change only), all the way to last stop, "Shop River" (note: no actual shop there... ask driver). Get off the bus; keep walking (same direction as the bus was going). Turn left at Hostel sign, continue, and then take next sharp right turn at Hostel sign. This begins in Dublin's southern suburb of Rathfarnham and travels in a south-south-westerly direction across the Dublin and Wicklow uplands, then through the rolling hill country of southwest County Wicklow to finish in the small, County Carlow village of Clonegal 132 kilometres later. A combination of suburban parkland, forest trails, wild and scenic mountain landscape and finally rolling countryside offers a wonderfully varied, 8 to 10 day experience for a hill-walker of average fitness. Knockree Hostel has now teamed up with EcoAdventure Ireland and offers residential and non residential multi activity days or ecology field study days for groups of 20 pax or more. Activities that can be arranged include pony trekking, mountain biking, archery, team building tasks, hillwalking and orienteering. Ecology field studies cover areas relevant to the Junior and Leaving Certificate Curriculum. All activities take part on the grounds across from Knockree Hostel, Co Wicklow.
