Kippure Estate is magnificently set in a wild and wonderful valley in the heart of the West Wicklow Mountains… a paradise for nature lovers, rich in history, proud of its magical scenery.

The estate’s extensive private grounds are ideal for rambling and exploring, picnics, barbecues or just reading your book in the sunshine - 240 acres (1.6 sq km) of mature woodland and ancient meadows full of magic discoveries… The perfect family holiday destination!

The fledging River Liffey forms the southern boundary of the estate – walking along the bank on a summer’s evening is spectacular.

Directions

Travel directions from Dublin city or Dublin airport:
Travel to the M50 Ring Road and take the Southbound Carriage-Way. Exit the motorway at Junction 11 (for Tallaght orN81).Follow the N81 towards Blessington. Approximately 1.6 kilometres (1 mile) after Brittas Village and the Blue Gardenia pub take the left turn marked R759 for Roundwood / Kilbride / Sally Gap.
This is the R759. Follow this road until you come to a left turn just before the village of Manor Kilbride. Turn left here! Do not drive into the village! Signposted for Kippure Estate / Sally Gap / Roundwood / Braveheart Drive.
Kippure Estate is 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) along this road on the right hand side.
Watch out for the green Kippure Estate sign beside the walled entrance.
Follow the long driveway to a number of buildings. Kippure's reception is located in the last building on the left.

Description

The Wicklow Mountains National Park stretches to the horizon, almost surrounding the estate. Just a few minutes walk from your accommodation there is easy access onto open mountain country via a bridge across the River Liffey.
Conveniently located less than an hour from Dublin airport, Dublin city centre and two major ferry ports.

The simple shape of these two-storey houses, combined with attractive interior design, offers a special living space, rustic, airy and bright, yet warm and comfortable.
• There are eight Seefin houses; each sleeping seven people in four bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin ensuite, 1 twin, 1 single). One separate bathroom with bathtub.
• Wooden floors throughout, TV, gas central heating and a cosy wood burning stove in the living room.
• Spacious open-plan kitchen, sitting room and dining area located upstairs. Conservatory style bay windows, capturing splendid views of rugged mountain country.
• Fully fitted kitchen, which features an oven/hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and all the necessary kitchen utensils and crockery.
• There is an iron and ironing board in the houses and there is a communal laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer onsite.
• No hidden costs: bed linen, towels, electricity, heating and firewood are all included in the price.

Whether you are looking for adventure and fun, for an educational experience, or if you just want to relax and tune into nature, Kippure Estate offers a wide range of fantastic activities: high & low ropes, sky trek & zip wire, climbing & abseiling tower, archery, orienteering, team building, environmental field study workshops and guided mountain walks.
From May to September, during weekends only, Kippure Estate offers an afternoon of exhilarating outdoor activities specifically for individuals, couples and smaller families. These popular open activity days consist of high ropes based activities. Reasonably priced; discount for residents.

The estate is within easy reach of all major walking areas of the county, some walks even start right at the doorstep… The Wicklow Mountains are a walker’s, paradise with rich flora and fauna, dramatic mountain scenery, stunning glacial lakes and lush-green forests.

5 minutes drive from Kippure Estate you’ll find South County Golf Club, a golf course in an area of much natural beauty. Two of the top European championship golf courses are also nearby: the K Club and Druids Glen.
Other activity options include fishing at Blessington Lakes and horse riding. Kippure Estate is an ideal base for discovering the many sights of County Wicklow and Kildare such as Glendalough, Powerscourt and the Irish National Stud. Due to its close proximity to Dublin it is also a great location for exploring Ireland’s capital city.

The area was the most enjoyable thing about this self catering. Blessington is central so there are plenty of places within driving distance so plenty to do and see with the kids. Wouldn't recommend this particular self catering as no mobile reception, can't let kids outside the door as cars driving past, it wasn't clean and houses need a lot of work.

Our grounds and facilities provide a memorable setting for corporate events, celebrations, anniversaries, wedding receptions, birthday parties, summer barbecues, Christmas festivities and family reunions.
