Our room overlooked the River Slaney & it was just beautiful!
On arriving, the hotel is very impressive and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were with a wedding and all guests were treated in the same friendly manner. We checked in and went to our room, I was very dissappointed when we arrived into our room that there was a double bed, a single bed which is very popular for a hotel room but we had a set of bunk beds also which felt like a dormatory. Our view was a roof which wasn't very attractive. Myself and my husband were quite dissappointed as we had somebody minding our young daughter and we said we would treat ourselves and stay in this hotel as we heard such good reviews about it. I went to see what my friends room was like and they were 2 girls sharing and they had a lovely room overlooking the garden with a balcony and a seating area. They couln't believe our room when they saw it and thought it ridiculous. I would have reservations about recommending the hotel for this reason and would tell people to specify the kind of room they wanted.
View Property Response
We do endeavour to accommodate all guests with appropriate bedding for individual needs. One of our most popular grades of bedrooms is our family room with double, single bed and bunk beds which Ms Wynne was allocated for her overnight stay. On occasion these rooms are often occupied by a single person or two adults during high occupancy levels, as are all other grades of rooms i.e. Executive Suites and Deluxe Rooms. During high occupancy levels, we are happy to upgrade guests to maximise the usage of all bedrooms. We are extremely sorry that Ms Wynne would have negative reviews or concerns towards the Ferrycarrig Hotel based on her overnight stay. We are always happy to receive special requests or requirements during the reservation process.
