During my week in Ireland I stayed at three hotels - this was the worst in many ways. All my hotels were chosen for three attributes - view of the sea, a car park, comfortable accommodation at the right price. This hotel did not match up to any of these expectations. My room was in an annexe built to the rear of the hotel. The walls were paper thin and I was woken by another guest at 5.15 am who was packing his case to leave. I know it was a male because I clearly heard him talking right outside the door to my room 20 minutes later. This was the good nights sleep I never got - having spent the previous night on a ferry from France. On the night of arrival I went down to get a meal in the restaurant, however as a lone female, I was required to eat a three course meal in the bar area, on a low table, hardly suitable for eating a meal. The next morning, the staff seemed little prepared to provide breakfast - presumably because the tour company guests had all left at around 6 am.
