Welcome to Cairbre House, a delightful Georgian accommodation located close to the busy market town of Dungarvan in County Waterford. The home was built in 1819 by the Duke of Devonshire and is a jewel in the crown of the sunny south east. The property is just less than 1km from Dungarvan Harbour. The Comeragh Mountains as the backdrop and the Colligan River Estuary to the foreground certainly is the icing on the cake of this magnificent property.

From Waterford On approach to Dungarvan on the N25 route (Waterford – Cork), continue pass one roundabout on the N25. When you reach the second roundabout (Strandside Roundabout) take the exit to the right. Cairbre House is the first house on the left hand side approximately 200m from the roundabout. From Cork When you reach Dungarvan keep travelling on the N25. Go straight through five roundabouts. When you get to the sixth roundabout (Strandside Roundabout) take the exit to the left. Cairbre House is the first house on the left hand side, approximately 200m from the roundabout.
Cairbre House is the perfect place to base your self while touring the South East. Waterford is known for the miles of sandy beaches dotted along the coastline and lucky for you Dungarvan Harbour and beach are less than 1km from your accommodation. The centre of Dungarvan town is brimming with life. Take pleasure in strolling though the streets, discovering new stores and re-discovering old favourites. The best way to appreciate the history and culture of the area is with a visit to the Gaeltacht in the heart of the Irish countryside. There you can experience the distinctive smell of a blazing turf fire while you listen to traditional music and folklore - a most memorable experience. As well as that, the scenery of the area is second to none. The freedom of the open road, the spectacular mountain backdrops and picture perfect vistas will have you returning year after year.
Brian and family are your hosts during your stay and you can be assured of a warm welcome from them as soon as you walk through the doors of this historic house. The property has been in the family for over 100 years and exudes old world charm with modern conveniences. Needless to say the B&B has received numerous award over the last few years. The spacious bedrooms are decorated and maintained to an exceptional standard. All the rooms have en-suite facilities and also include the convenience of hair dryer, TV and even an electric blanket for those chilly nights. The residents’ lounge is a great place to put the feet up and relax in front of a blazing open fire with a good book or in good company. You are certain to feel quiet at ease in this home away from home.

One of the nicest b & b&'s we have ever stayed at. Brian, our host was so thorough, so much attention to detail. it was a lovely home and garden. would highly recommend it to anyone. The gardens are georgeous and the house was beautifully furnished.

The hospitality shown by Brian Wickham was second to none. Our stay was made complete by the spectacular views whilst sat on the balconey overlooking the river.A breakfast was served fit for royalty! A wonderful experience. The location of Cairbre House was a short walk to the facilities offered by Dungarvan town.Merry's public house is well worth a visit.

Once you have settled into your room, why not take a stroll around the impressive garden at the property where you have a number of seating areas from which to enjoy the breath-taking scenery and exotic shrubbery. It’s no secret that the extensive home cooked breakfast menu is one of the treats you will receive while staying at Cairbre House. The freshest local produce and homegrown herbs from the garden make this a mouth-watering experience.
