Spare a thought for the wood lined Blackwater river which - unlike ourselves - cannot stop to admire the beauty of Lismore, and the ducal castle that salutes it from above. Lismore is on the south bank of the Blackwater, 4 miles (6 km) from Capoquin. There is salmon, sea and brown trout fishing, though permits are required from the secretary of the Lismore estate. Golf (9). The Lismore Heritage Centre in the Town Hall provides an entertaining cinematic presentation of the history of Lismore and the area around it, during the season.
