Directions
Under two hours from Dublin, take N7 to Nenagh exit, follow Borrisokane sign, take next exit to Coolbawn, Ballinderry and arrive in Terryglass.
20 minutes from Birr, follow the N52 (signposted Nenagh) until Riverstown. After crossing the bridge in Riverstown take the R489 in the direction of Portumna. Turn Left onto the R438 and follow this until you reach the crossroads allowing you to turn right to Carrigahorig. In Carrigahorig turn right up the hill at the top of which you turn right onto the R493 in the direction of Terryglass.
Under one hour from Limerick, take M7 Dublin sign, leave M7 at junction 26, at roundabout take 2nd exit onto Limerick Road - N52 signposted Nenagh, follow sign to Borrisokane, take next exit to Coolbawn, Ballinderry and arrive in Terryglass.
Under one hour from Galway, take N6 sign for Dublin, leave M6 at junction 16, at roundabout take 3rd exit, at roundabout take 2nd exit to Loughrea - N65, at next roundabout take 2nd exit to Portumna - N65, turn right at sign to Portumna, turn left onto St Brendans St, follow Borrisokane sign, turn right at R493 Ballinderry sign, turn right into Terryglass.

Terryglass Village has much to offer and activities include a guided heritage & culture tour taking in a local Castle, Monastery ruins, Head-ache well, Eye well & trails including a walk through a scenic, wooded trail in the heart of the village, around the church culminating a stunning view of Shannon’s Lough Derg. A River Cruise can be arranged with a buffet lunch or without. The annual Terryglass Arts Festival in the summertime which includes children’s, teenagers & adult workshops, a concert in the church & an evening fireworks display in the harbour.
Angling & Fishing can be organized from Terryglass Harbour, there is a choice of either hiring a fishing boat or a guided trip out on the lake or up the river. The beach is a short distance to commute to some of the best waves in the world for surfing.
