Welcome to Moygara House, a superb newly refurbished, renovated and extended former traditional farmhouse. The house stands on 2.5 acres of secluded land, completely private and tranquil, with only the accompanying sounds of the countryside!
This self catering house sleeps 8, has 4 bedrooms, a large sitting room, dining room, fully fitted kitchen and utility room with washer and dryer.
The nearest village is Gurteen, with supermarket, traditional pubs and Michael Coleman Traditional Irish Music Centre.
2008 was the first letting season for this beautiful hideaway, which has Failte Ireland 4 star approval.
From Dublin:
Take the M4/N4 to Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Take the R294 signposted Tubbercuury / Ballina from Boyle to Mullaghroe. Take 2nd left at Mullaghroe and then 1st right onto Line Road. Then take 1st left at bungalow and travel for 0.8km to Moygara House.
We are one and a half hours drive from Ireland West Knock airport, 2.5 hours from Dublin Airport and 45 minutes from Sligo Airport at Strandhill.. Train stations are in Boyle and Ballymote, and there is a regular bus service from Galway and Dublin.

Moygara House has 4 bedrooms, 2 spacious doubles with en-suite showers, w.c and basin, one downstairs and one upstairs. Upstairs also are 2 large twin bedrooms with a bathroom, including shower and bath.
All rooms are fitted with built in wardrobes and tallboys. All bed linen and towels are supplied.
Views are to the mountains and the forest. Downstairs has laminate flooring, and upstairs is carpeted. There is also a w.c. downstairs.
The large sitting room has beautiful leather sofa and armchairs, with a stove fire, set in a magnificent floor to ceiling traditional stone fireplace and ample supplies of local timber and turf! TV, video, dvd and stereo are also installed. On the landing is a large library of books for your enjoyment during your stay.
The beautiful traditional pine kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences, including hob, oven, dishwasher, freezer, microwave and toaster. All kitchen implements are also in stock.
The dining room has seating for 8 people, ideal for that special meal, and outside there is a patio area with barbeque and picnic benches.
There is a large lawn which is ideal for kids to play on.

Many historical sites such as Moygara Castle, Carrowkeel Tombs and many more megalithic tombs, ring forts and limekilns in the area, as well as crannogs at the lake. There is also the famine village of Crop on Mullaghatee mountain.
