Sligo, one of the most scenically beautiful counties in Ireland offers endless opportunities to walkers. The mountainous landscap, the boglands, endless stretches of snady beaches, forests and the many historical attractiosn, e.g. Yeat's Grave at Drumcliff, the Castles, Great Houses and Monasteries.
Description
Walk No. 4 Benbulbin (8km/5m. 2.5 hours. 400m/1300ft) Road Access Front GPO cross Hyde Bridge. Route: Rough track leads to base of mountain. Get your bearings at this point, relating sketch map to terrain. Note deep main gulley with smaller curved gulley to Wof it. The route follows W bank of curved gulley up to the summitt plateau. The summitt lies 1km/0.7m to W over level firm bogland. Return Route: Follow route of ascent, taking great care to keep to the level plateau for 1km before descending to gulley, i.e. avoid commencing descent too soon.

Walk No. 4 Benbulbin (8km/5m. 2.5 hours. 400m/1300ft) Road Access Front GPO cross Hyde Bridge. Left to N15. Continue past Drumcliffe Church At 9.6km. 6m. Miltown Creamery turn R at 10km/6.5m. L at 12km/7.7m. park car at next junction.
