Located off the west coast of County Galway, Inishbofin remains to be one of Irelands best loved islands. Chosen by St Colman to be the location of his monastery due to the tranquillity of the island, the same peace and calmness surrounds the island today.
The outdoor enthusiast will be in heaven when they arrive here! There are sheltered beach coves Europe’s clearest blue waters! The wild Atlantic Sea will entice experienced divers to explore their depths and examine Irish aquatic life.
Perhaps you’d prefer to engage in a spot of, deep sea and rock angling. For the history buff amongst you there are many Celtic and early Christian fortified habitations be found on the island also. If you have an interest in nature, you may by enthralled by the number of bird sanctuaries the island has.
After all those activities my advice would be to sit back and relax the friendly atmosphere in the Community Club which hosts traditional music sessions, frequent folk dancing and ceili.
