Set on the beautiful Castle Leslie Estate, the 4-star Victorian Lodge and Victorian Spa in Co. Monaghan has been carefully restored, retaining all its natural beauty and original character offering everything guests need for comfort and relaxation. The 30 bedrooms are decorated with a sumptuous traditional style, some with balconies overlooking the stables.

Guests can enjoy a pint in the cosy Conor's Bar or enjoy the gastronomic delights of Snaffles - the contemporary Brasserie set on the mezzanine floor.

Directions

DIRECTIONS FROM SHANNON TO DUBLIN
(214km/134 miles 2.5 Hours)
· Follow the signs from Shannon to Limerick along the N18.
· When you arrive in Limerick, take the N7 to Dublin until you reach the ring road (M50) around the City.
· Follow the M50 to the N2 for Monaghan.

DIRECTIONS FROM DUBLIN
(120km/75 miles 80minute Journey)
· From Dublin City Centre head for new M1 out of Dublin for Belfast.
· From airport, follow the signs for M1/N1 for Belfast.
If you are on the M50, turn off the M50 for the M1 Belfast.
· Once on the M1, follow the new M1 for approximately 35 miles and then take the turn for Ardee.
· Just before Ardee, go straight through the first roundabout and take the third turn off the next roundabout for N2 Derry – DO NOT GO INTO ARDEE
· . Follow the N2 (signed for Derry) through Carrickmacross and onto the Castleblaney bypass.
· Continue forward for approx. 20 minutes (You will pass signposts for Castleblayney, Annyalla and Clontibret on your right) towards Monaghan until you come to the first roundabout.
· Take the second exit off this roundabout signposted for Derry. Continue forward to the second roundabout. Take the first exit off this roundabout.
· Continue forward to the third roundabout. Take the third exit off this roundabout signposted for Armagh.
· Continue on this road for approx. two miles until you see a signpost for Glaslough on your left hand side. Turn left here.
· Continue on this road until you meet the Castle Leslie Estate wall. Follow it into the village of Glaslough and up to the gates of the estate.
· When inside the gates, you will see the Hunting Lodge on your left and the carpark on your right hand side.
If you are staying in The Club at Castle Leslie, drive 500 meters to the end of the driveway and you are at the Castle doors.
If you are leaving Dublin on a Friday, try and leave the city by 4.00pm at the latest as the northbound traffic is extremely busy and can add up to 45 minutes to your journey.
NOTE: Those traveling through Dublin can now use the Port Tunnel which will significantly shorten their journey.

DIRECTIONS FROM BELFAST
(100km/60 miles)
70 minute Journey Belfast-Armagh.
· From Belfast, follow the M1 to Junction11. Turn off onto the M12. Follow the signs to Portadown.
· At Portadown, follow the signs to Armagh on the A3.
· When in Armagh, follow the signs to the Palace Stables.
· Take the left turn after the Palace Stables.
· Follow this road for approx. 200m and take the right signposted for Monaghan.
· Continue on this road passing through the village of Middletown before you come to the border.
· About 2 miles passed Middletown there is a Statoil petrol station on the border.
· After passing over the border, drive on this road for approx. 2 miles before taking a right turn signposted for the village of Glaslough.
· Continue on this road until you meet the Castle Leslie Estate wall. Follow it into the village of Glaslough and up to the gates of the estate.
· When inside the gates, you will see the Hunting Lodge on your left and the carpark on your right hand side.
· If you are staying in The Club at Castle Leslie, drive 500 meters to the end of the driveway and you are at the Castle doors.

The Equestrian Centre is tucked behind the Lodge making it an ideal base for horse-lovers to explore the 1,000 acre Estate on horse-back. This is further complimented by the relaxing Victorian Spa located within the Lodge - perfect to ease those tired muscles after an exhilarating days riding or just because you deserve it! On the Estate there is a Cookery School for those budding chefs out there and also miles of stunning walks. Locally you can enjoy shopping, golf, rally driving, watersports, clay pigeon shooting and much much more.

There’s something for every taste in the 30 bedrooms.  If you like bedrooms decorated with a sumptuous traditional style, try the bedrooms in the original building. But if you’re a riding enthusiast, choose the more contemporary styled bedrooms in the newer wings.  With views over the Equestrian Centre’s five courtyards, you’re never far from your equine friends.

The Equestrian Centre
Castle Leslie Estate is Ireland's Ultimate Equestrian Playground where the Horse is King. Located behind the Hunting Lodge, the centre is in the perfect place for adventure - Imagine over a thousand acres of rolling hills, parkland and lakes to explore on horseback. The Equestrian Centre caters for all levels of experience. Beginners can choose from a gentle hack or private lesson - or the complete first timers can try out the virtual horse before tackling the real thing. The Cookery School
Guests can cook up a storm in the Castle Leslie Estate Cookery School located in the restored original Victorian kitchens in the Castle. One of the best known cookery schools in Ireland and open all year round, the School offers cookery courses personally designed by our Masterchef Noel McMeel. Whether you're an experienced cook or a culinary novice, we have the right course to help you develop your skills.

The courses include a diverse and exciting range of evening, one and two day cookery courses for up to twelve people such as 'Men Only', 'Dinner Parties to Impress' and 'Guilt Free Cooking'. Whichever you choose, the Cookery School is a relaxing distraction from modern-day stress, introducing you to new skills, new people, new tastes and new unforgettable experiences.

Excellent quality and very good value. Staff very obliging, pleasant and keen to be of assistance. I would recommend Castle Leslie to friends. Only quibble is that bedside lighting is a bit low for reading purposes. It would also be nice to be able to walk in a loop around the lake.

Snaffles Brasserie
Enjoy delicious meals with a wonderful view of ancient woodland.  Set on a mezzanine floor, the open-plan brasserie is light and spacious with its dramatic hand-carved ceiling and robust oak beams blending effortlessly with a striking wall of contemporary glass.
 
The delicious menu uses the highest quality local ingredients without compromising on taste and choice.  Offering a fresh approach to Mediterranean cuisine, food is cooked in the state-of-the-art wood-burning stone oven.
