Aughagower Village is supposedly where Saint Patrick slept the night before he headed up the holy mountain of Croagh Patrick. Perhaps you could retrace his steps as so many pilgrims have done before. You could also go angling on Lough Kinlooley – Mayo is home to many rivers and lakes making it one of the best fishing spots in Ireland. There are also numerous golf courses in the area. Horse riding is available just a few kilometres away and it's a fantastic base for exploring the unspoilt landscape of Connemara.
