Directions
Carracastle is located just inside the Mayo border, on the N5 road midway between Chalestown and Ballaghadereen.
To get to Rockview House once in Carracastle, driving up the N5 towards Ballaghaderreen you will pass the church on your right and Regans Public House on your left. Take the next road on your left hand side, drive for a few minutes until the road forks take the road to the right hand side.
We are located approximately ten minutes drive to Knock Airport and twenty minutes drive to Knock Shine.
Local Area
There are several pubs and shops near to Rockview House with a couple of pubs holding regular music nights. One of Carracastle’s most famous men is the well know flute player with the Chieftains, Matt Molloy. Carracastle also hosts the very popular ‘Carracastle Lass Festival’ in late July. There are also many restaurants in the Carracastle and the surrounding towns of Ballaghderreen and Charlestown.
While in Charlestown, take a day trip to Castlebar, known as the capital town of Mayo, where you will find, heritage, scenery and history. There are also some beautiful scenic drives to be enjoyed in Mayo County, allowing you and your family to enjoy the countryside at your own pace.
Step up a gear and enjoy the North Mayo Sculpture Trail where you will see some of Mayo’s beautiful remote coastline. Step down a gear and sing along to the music provided at the weekends in the atmospheric local pubs nearby.
