Welcome to Dolmen Bed and Breakfast which is ideally situated less than 5 minutes from the famous and historic village of Cong in County Mayo, tucked between Lough Mask and Lough Corrib.

Whether you are an angler, a hillwalker, a historian or simply a lover of nature, a visit to this quaint little village of Cong is something you'll always treasure.
Cong is home to the classic movie "The Quiet Man" and it's also close to Ashford Castle and Lisloughrey House Hotel.

Directions

On arrival in Cong Village, please follow signposts for Dolmen House which are erected on Cong Bridge.

Journey times to Cong:
From Castlebar, Galway or Westport about - 40 minutes
From Clifden and Knock Airport - 60 minutes
From Shannon Airport - 120 minutes

Dolmen Bed and Breakfast consists of three spacious bedrooms. The bedrooms are comfortable, clean and bright  and are all tastefully decorated throughout offering a high standard of accommodation.

All the bedrooms contain an ensuite and in room facilities include TV and hairdryer. The property is family friendly and ground floor bedrooms are available. One of the bedrooms contain a double and a single bed which is ideal for families.

This year, enjoy a wonderful break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, whether you wish to escape from the city for a weekend or if you fancy a relaxing family or romantic break away, Dolmen House is the perfect base to relax and enjoy welcoming Irish hospitality.  Activities that can be enjoyed locally include hillwalking, golf, angling, horse riding and sailing.

Tourist Attractions

Cong village in located between Lough Mask and Lough Corrib and is an excellent base for fishing and boating. Attractions in the village include the Quiet Man Heritage Cottage which of course is famous due to the 1951 film The Quiet Man staring the late actor John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara.

Inchagoill Island
Visit Inchagoill Island's 5th century monastic site, sailings are available daily with Corrib Cruises. 

While in County Mayo, take the opportunity to discover and explore other tourist attractions, which include Achill Island, Knock and Croagh Patrick.

The B&B was hard to find - we were told on arrival that some of the signs in the village had been removed. A text or email with directions would have been helpful. The room seemed smaller than those shown on the website, but it was very clean. Breakfast was great. A nice 10/15 minute walk into Cong.

A delicious breakfast menu is available each morning in the dining area allowing you to choose from a traditional Irish to a continental breakfast.  Tea and coffee is available all day in the guest lounge where you can relax, read a book or chat to the other guests.

If you fancy heading out for the day, packed lunches are available on request.
The Bed and Breakfast has the added plus of a babysitting service available on request should the occasion arise.  The property also consists of beautifully maintained gardens and a picnic area, which adds to the splendour of the surroundings.
