5 Minutes walk from the hotel to the east is the Keel sandybanks area home to the Achill Golf Club.  A 9 hole golf links in the shadows of the majestic Minaun Cliffs a great way to pass a couple of hours. Also in this area is Keel lake home to many of our water sports providers. Keel lake with its shallow waters it is the ideal place to try new sports like canoeing, windsurfing and if you're brave enough kite surfing!

North from the hotel lies the monsterous Slievemore mountain. Great to pass a day hiking. For those on the historical trail at the foot of Slievemore lies the deserted village and the megalithic tombs. The Deserted Village at Slievemore is a reminder of times past on Achill Island. Time spent here meandering from cottage to cottage, through the fields with their still evident ridges is a journey back in time.
