Beaulieu House

Beaulieu House was purchased and enlarged by Sir Henry Tichbourne then Marshall of the Army in Ireland and Governor General of Drogheda at the time of the restoration of Charles II. The Plunkett family previously owned the lands of Beaulieu and its castle.
One of the earliest examples in Ireland of an unfortified house, The Beaulieu you see today was constructed in the late 17th and early 18th century, most probably designed by a Dutch Architect.

Louth Saint Mochtas House

Legend says that the church was built in a single night to form a suitable resting place for the founder, St. Mochta, who died in 534. The monastery was plundered by the Vikings in 830 and 839, by Muircheartach, King of Aileach in 968 and by Gluniallar (Eagle-Knee) O'Flaherty in 978. the monastery was flattened by a storm in 986, burned in 1075 and again in 1111,1113, 1148, 1160, 1164 and 1166. the church possibly dates to the second half of the 12th century. Mayoralty House

Mayoralty House which was erected by the Corporation in 1765 to accommodate municipal receptions and other such functions. It is a finely detailed pedimented building, two storeys high, of local limestone. The windows on the ground floor are roundheaded, while an elegant venetian window on the upper storey lends further distinction to the house. The Mayoralty House was the scene of many notable events in the history of Drogheda, not least of which was the conferring in 1884 on Charles Stewart...

Saint Johns Home
Drogheda, Louth
The gable end of each row, situated at right-angles to the street, has inset a blank half-moon recess, and the two groups of houses are linked by an arch bearing the inscription "St. John's Home, 1816" and the town's crest, a star and crescent. From this little square, a fine view may be obtained of the Tholsel, with Millmount and the southern slopes of the town in the background....
