Fungi the Dingle dolphin is perhaps the best known bottle-nosed dolphin in Irish waters. This type of dolphin is very common around Ireland. The Latin name is Tursiops truncatus, is thought to be very intelligent and can relate somewhat with humans. Dolphins are renowned for their therapeutic powers - people with various mental and physical disabilities will often swim with them and have been known to experience some relief.
