At the Anglers Rest (an Irish Pub in a rural setting), the age-old tradition of Irish Cross-Roads Dancing has not only survived, but thrives. Generation after generation, in the farmhouses of Finuge, the intricate dancing steps have been handed down from father to son and from mother to daughter. The symbolism of some of these rapidly-executed foot movements has been lost in antiquity. The meaning behind other steps is known and can be explained. You are invited to come and watch the free outdoor exhibitions of this Irish dancing at Finuge. It will be the highlight of a holiday in Ireland. If the weather is not suitable for an outdoor performance, it is held indoors. Participate in the fun. Learn to dance some of the easier movements. The local experts will enjoy showing you how to do it. Cross Roads Dancing at Finuge offers a photo opportunity to capture something that is unique to the area, giving you a memorable record of a holiday in Kerry. The Anglers Rest offers traditional music, Irish craic, warm atmosphere.

The real soul of Ireland can only be found in the fantastic rhythm of its dancing feet. This Christian art form has survived only in a few locations. The best place to enjoy it is at a performance in front of the picturesque thatched cottages of the North Kerry village of Finuge, just three miles form Listowel.
