Bridge Veiw Cottage is a 4 star self catering property located in Beaufort,midway on N72 between Killarney and Killorglin. This two bedroom cottage is decorated in charming traditional style, with a focal point wood and peat burning stove (both of which are provided).

Bridge Veiw is situated 3 miles from Irelands highest mountain Carrauntoohil and the M'Gillicuddy Reeks, 1 mile from the Gap of Dunloe leading to the Black Valley, 1 mile from Tomies wood walks with views of Red deer and only ten minutes drive from the vibrant Killarney town, making this a wonderful central location from where to enjoy all that Kerry has to offer.

Description
Traditional old style stone cottage with natural roof slating,encompassing all modern facilities, situated in a scenic peaceful location adjacent to a mountain stream that flows from the base of Strickeen mountain,part of the M'Gillicuddy Reeks.
Directions
From Killarney take the N71 main road to Killorglin.  Take a left at Beaufort Bridge, drive over the bridge and straight on past Beaufort Village, from Beaufort village turn left at the Grotto and left again at Y junction.
Rooms

The cottage provides luxury self-catering accommodation and sleeps 5 persons (cot supplied on request).

A double bedroom on ground level is furnished with handmade pine furniture and chestnut wooden flooring, generating an atmosphere of warmth. This room leads directly to shower and toilet facilities.  A wrought iron spiral staircase fitted with solid oak wooden steps leads to a spacious landing area which is furnished with a wooden wardrobe and futon. 

Two doors lead from the landing, one accessing the loft bedroom which sleeps 3 persons(1 double and 1 single bed).  The second door accesses a fully fitted bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath, electric shower and toilet facilites. Velux windows in the upstairs area further enhance the natural lighting.

 

Facilities

The cottage layout includes a fitted kitchen fully equipped with all modern appliances, washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, cooker fridge and microwave.  The Kitchen has a solid oak table which seats 5 persons and is placed beside one of the two rustic red brick feature walls.

There is a charming old-style living room with a solid fuel stove surrounded by a spectacular hand cut local stone fireplace, complimented by pine beams and subtle lighting system creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. .Handmade pine furniture adorn the premises throughout and is complimented by wooden flooring of pitch-pine and chestnut.  Exposed rafters, stone feature fireplace, wood/peat burning stove, old rectory cast-iron radiators, wrought iron masonry, Scandinavian red wood sash windows and co-ordinating soft furnishings all contribute to a truly charming old world atmosphere.

This property exhibits locally sourced materials and craftsmanship throughout. It has a wooden garden shed to facilitate storage of equipment for outdoor pursuits. Mountain bikes and ordinance survey

It also has oil fired central heating via traditional rectory radiators.

The house is situated 3/4 mile from the River Laune-renowned Salmon and trout fisheries(permits available locally).

The cottage is only 6 miles from Killarney town centre with it's many cafe's, bars, restaurants and shops.  On the outskirts of Killarney there are many places to visit, such as Muckross House and Gardens, situated on the Lakes of Killarney, Torc Waterfall, Ross Castle and the Dempense - also part of Killarney National Park.

7 miles from the Cottage is the small town of Killorglin-home to puck fair(August10-12).  Here there are also several restaurants and bars and also well worth a visit is the Tapas Bar, set in an old church the Tapas and Spanish wines are definatley worth a try.
