Ard Na Sidhe Country House

Caragh Lake
Killorglin
Customer Review5 out of 5
5 out of 5
This old world Elizabethan style house was built by Lady Gordon, a lady of titled Irish lineage, in 1913. It nestles on the slopes of Lake Caragh, surrounded by mountains and fits harmoniously into the landscape in an aura of browns and purple hue. The title Ard na Sidhe is Gaelic, translated, means “ The Hill of the Fairies”. This fairy hill is at the rear of the house with passages leading to a large cave. To interfere with this fairy fort is thought to bring the wrath of the mythical inhabitants of Ireland… Killarney Hotels Ltd has created an ambience of graceful elegance combined with the luxury of modern comforts while maintaining an old world enchantment with its collection of antique furnishing and paintings.
